Your First Visit

How Therapy Supports Your Journey

Therapy is an invitation to explore the “here-and-now” of your life. Whether you are navigating a transitional period, managing high-level professional stress, or seeking to heal deeper soul-wounds, our work together is about more than symptom management, it is about integration and self-acceptance.

Working from a Humanistic and Gestalt perspective, I help you develop a deeper awareness of your current patterns. By understanding how you navigate the world, you can move from feeling burdened by your circumstances to seeing them as opportunities for profound personal growth.

In our sessions, we may explore:

  • Presence & Awareness: Learning to ground yourself in the present moment.

  • Relational Depth: Navigating relationships and cultural transitions with clarity.

  • Emotional Integration: Moving through grief, anxiety, or depression with self-compassion.

  • Authenticity: Understanding your unique strengths and quieting the inner critic.

What to Expect on Your First Visit

Our first meeting is an encounter, a space for us to see if we are the right fit for one another. It has two primary focuses:

1. Honoring Your Context We will explore your current circumstances and the history that has shaped you. I bring clinical rigor to this assessment, ensuring we identify the approach that best honors your heritage and your unique goals. We aren’t just looking at “problems”; we are looking at the whole individual.

2. Building the Therapeutic Relationship In Gestalt and Person-Centred work, the relationship is the most vital tool for healing. This first session is a two-way conversation. You are welcome to ask questions as we get to know each other. For therapy to be successful, we must establish a safe, honest, and supportive connection. You can expect to be met with:

  • Deep empathy, respect, and non-judgmental listening.

  • A safe, confidential space to explore your reality.

  • Evidence-based clinical expertise combined with a holistic, spiritual view.
